Degerfors probably the last club of the winter season following the departure of Zenit St. Petersburg
(27.02.2012). Now Zenit St. Petersburg has left Cascade Resort’s football training facility for the third round play-off of the Russian league against CSKA in Moscow on 3rd March, the Swedish team Degerfors IF arrived last weekend as probably the last football team to hold their training camp at Cascade Resort in the winter season.
Degerfors IF, currently playing in the second highest Swedish league, was the first club coached by Sven-Göran Eriksson following retirement from his playing career.
The Cascade Hotel in the meantime is anxious to see the return leg of the UEFA Champions League round of Zenit St. Petersburg against Benfica Lisboa. In an interview with the Portuguese journal “A Bola”, the Italian Zenit player Domenico Criscito claimed the Cascade Hotel was a talisman. “We must not forget that this hotel has already given us luck with the game against FC in the last round at the group stage of the Champions League. Hopefully the same will happen with Benfica”, he said, stating his hopes.
